1. Preliminary Phone Consultation

Every project begins with a no-cost phone consultation. During this call, we will learn more about the goals, budget, and vision for your home renovation. We will discuss the design ideas, and appropriate timelines, and share our company’s operational process. It is essential to be upfront and clear about your budget and timeline, so we can recommend the best next step. If you feel we are the right fit for your project, we will move forward with an in-home consultation.

2. In-Home Consultation

During this consultation, we will do a site analysis to see what requirements will need to be met to facilitate an accurate estimate. These are items such as structural engineering or any necessary wall uncovering. We will take this time to elaborate and expand upon our previously discussed topics, to get a more accurate vision of the project.  At the end of this meeting, we will leave you with additional information on our renovation process, as well as address any questions or concerns you may have.

3. Pre-Construction

At the beginning of our preconstruction process, a PSA (Professional Service Agreement) will be presented to be authorized by you. This agreement includes the cost of our time to provide you with a complete and detailed scope of work and a fixed price for your renovation project. Our time includes our value engineering, sub-trade walk-throughs, pricing and detailing on all material selections, refinement of designs and details based on final drawing versions, and all other necessary project-specific information. If you decide to work with us, this agreement is credited to your project.

4. Proposal Meeting

Prior to the proposal meeting, we will confirm all the final drawings and entailing scope(s) of work. The proposal will be presented to you at this time and will include a detailed timeline, a room-by-room scope of work, a list of all material and product selections, and a fixed price to complete your project. Once the proposal is approved, and our construction contract is authorized, we can get to work!

5. Permitting and Preparation

Once the necessary permits are submitted, we will begin procuring materials, ordering extended lead time products, scheduling all involved trade partners, and reviewing all job documents with our lead carpenters. Before construction, your assigned project manager will meet with you to go over every detail of the project and answer any questions you may have.

6. Construction

One of the most important components of the entire renovation process is clear communication. Our project manager will give you continuous updates on the progress of the job, as well as an up-to-date timeline on scheduled goals and project completion. You will have access to our project management software, allowing you to see all the financials, scheduling, and internal notes necessary. Our goal is to complete your project on time, on schedule, and to the highest quality standard. During our final walk-through, we will provide a notice of completion for you to authorize, and you can begin enjoying your newly remodeled space.

7. Warranty

California state law requires a 1-year “Fit and Finish” warranty on work performed. At Catalyst Construction, we extend that by offering a 2-year warranty on all materials provided and workmanship performed, as our standard. This is our way to prove our desire to provide quality products, service, and craftsmanship to you, our client.
